🌦 Weather Overview

- Sea Conditions: Very calm seas throughout the month

- Water Temperature: 25-26.5 degrees

- Wind:  mostly very still with mainly light north wind 5-8 knots

- Rainfall: very dry month

Some reports on banks. 1-2 very large ones

Blue Marlin

Sporadic action, better on west coast and at end of month

Notable Catches & Reports

 

 Marlin have started arriving with the warmer water and large numbers of bonito. Tuna bite slowed down a bit. Some very good days. Lots of sharks on drop offs and banks making fishing quite tough.

Grand Baie yacht club competition was won by team Sportfisher with 1 Marlin released. 

Other fish in the competition:

-2 spearfish released by Stephane Piat

- 140lbs tuna caught by Max Daruty

- 38lbs wahoo caught by Dylan Slome

- lots of dorado and big bonito

- 407lbs blue marlin caught by Stephane Piat on Reel’Ease

- Best Lures/Bait: artificial lures and live bait

📅 Outlook for Next Month

- Expect maintained very calm conditions; tuna bite likely to get better around full moon

- Marlin season approaching with a mix of smaller and mid size fish

- Marlin World Cup 17-19 December fished exclusively on 50lbs line test
