- Sea Conditions:  windy month with some good days but wind causing some choppy seas

- Water Temperature: 26-27 degrees

- Wind:  mostly windy with some strong south easterly winds

- Rainfall: low

Low numbers of big tuna. Smaller fish around fads

Dorado (Mahi-Mahi)

 Medium numbers Found far out

Low  numbers but those caught were 15kgs ++

Giant Trevally (GT)

5–40kg

Very low numbers

Dogtooth Tuna

8–30kg

Some reports on banks. Smaller fish

Blue Marlin

Low numbers. Some smaller fish caught

Notable Catches & Reports

 

April was a quieter month with the large shoals of big yellowfin tuna moving on from our coasts. With a few windy days, the dorado are back! They are found 15 miles ++ from our coasts.

Sharks have been a common siting on shelves and banks. Common species silver tip and bull sharks

🐟 Catch of the Month

-          +\ - 65lbs  GT caught and released by Dylan Slome

-          250 lbs swordfish caught by Mark de Speville

- Best Lures/Bait: artificial lures and live bait

📅 Outlook for Next Month

- Expect more windy days

- big tuna shoals will slow down

- water temperatures to start dropping to 25-26 degrees

- Marlin bite to slow down

- smaller tuna to arrive around fads and drop offs
