🌦 Weather Overview

- Sea Conditions:  seas were some days choppy and others relatively calm throughout the month

- Water Temperature: 26-26.9 degrees

- Wind:  unusually windy December with north wind present

- Rainfall: mainly in the west and south coast

Very low numbers

Dogtooth Tuna

8–30kg

Some reports on banks. Smaller fish

Blue Marlin

Large numbers on some days. Mix of small and large fish

Notable Catches & Reports

 

Marlin have arrived with large numbers being caught on the right days around new and full moon. Big schools of small and big skipjack tuna have been found around the island. The current was extremely strong this month.

The Marlin World Cup was won by team Efkays onboard Ushta Te who released 2 Marlin with bonus points.

Other fish in the competition:

- 84lbs wahoo caught by Black pearl

- 30lbs ++ Dorado

- 84 lbs wahoo on Black Pearl

- 755 lbs blue Marlin on Aquila

- 550 lbs blue Marlin on No limit

- Best Lures/Bait: artificial lures and live bait

📅 Outlook for Next Month

- Expect more unstable conditions with some windy and rainy days

- water temperatures to rise above 27 degrees

- Marlin bite to remain strong around new moon

- Tuna bite to remain strong
